Surely, we can get through this without being mean...
Since COVID-19 first hit, I have marveled at how differently people react to the various forecasts, precautions, and rules involving the pandemic. Reaction runs the whole gamut from paranoia to utter disdain. I know people who have chosen to leave their homes only for the bare necessities these last nine months and all social contact is spurned. All dressed up and no one to talk to !
Many will remember 2020 as the longest year of their lives. Let me tell you about the longest hour of mine. Don’t stop the presses !!!!
News that another local business is permanently closing up shop is never good but I was especially saddened to learn that The Kingston Whig Standard will have no office here after the end of December. The announcement this week was quick to point out that the newspaper will continue to publish in print and digital but editorial staff will work from home, as they have been doing since March when their Cataraqui St. office was closed to the public.
